Common questions

What can I play in Rivona?

Rivona uses Apple's native playback frameworks for supported local audio and video, direct HTTPS media and HLS streams. File compatibility depends on the container, codecs and the Apple device. Open Library Tools > Check File Support for an on-device explanation without uploading the file.

How do I add local media?

Choose a media folder from the empty library or use the folder button in Library. You can also link a read-only system folder so a large collection stays in place instead of being copied into Rivona.

How does WebDAV work?

Add an HTTPS WebDAV source, enter the credentials for a server you control, then browse it read-only. Credentials stay in the Apple Keychain. You can cache an individual supported item and remove only that cached copy later. Rivona never uploads, renames or deletes the remote source file.

What is free and what does Lifetime Unlock include?

You can play up to 25 local items for free. Lifetime Unlock is one optional non-consumable purchase that removes the local-library limit and enables network sources, WebDAV and cache, advanced library tools, audio controls and Private Sync. There is no subscription. The final local price is always the one shown by the App Store.

How do I restore Lifetime Unlock?

Open Purchase & Sync and choose Restore Purchases while using the Apple Account that made the original purchase. A refund or revocation can lock paid features again, but Rivona keeps your existing local data.

How does Private Sync work?

Enable it separately on each device in Purchase & Sync. Rivona syncs only favorites, playlists, playback progress and allowlisted preferences through your private iCloud database. It does not sync media files, artwork, paths, credentials, caches or purchase records.

Why does Playback Details say evidence is unknown?

Rivona separates requested, measured and unknown conditions. Bluetooth, AirPlay, USB devices, display capabilities and source metadata do not always expose every fact. Unknown means Rivona does not have enough evidence; it is not silently downgraded into a made-up quality claim.

How do gapless playback, crossfade and volume matching work?

Compatible local tracks can be prepared on one audio timeline for gapless transitions. Crossfade and volume matching are optional Sound Settings. Playback Details shows whether a transition or gain has only been prepared or has measured runtime evidence.

What happens when a file or folder is missing?

Rivona keeps the library record so you can understand what is unavailable. Relink the folder or add the media again. Library cleanup and cache removal do not delete the original source file.

How do I contact support?

Email support@codeverything.cn. You can optionally export a redacted compatibility or sync report from Rivona and review it before attaching it. Never send WebDAV passwords or Apple Account credentials.
