Keep your records in your hands.
VisitLine is a client visit notebook.
Applicable versions and earlier behavior
The two separate consent choices apply to 0.2.2 (32) and later. From 0.2.2 (33), a separate AI text notice appears before the first recording; people without a subscription can also read it and choose to use only on-device features. Text and audio permissions are separate. In earlier versions, cloud text organization sent the transcript and existing client names when the feature was used with an active subscription; cloud speech enhancement was controlled by the older settings switch. That switch does not automatically become consent in newer versions. If you do not want to share content, use manual notes and on-device features, and update to the latest version.
What stays on your device by default
When content leaves your device
Speech transcription and text organization run on device by default. A subscription does not mean you consent to sending content to a third party. Only after you read the in-app notice and explicitly consent to AI text organization are the current transcript and existing client names sent through the VisitLine server to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio Qwen. They are used to extract the client, participants, summary, discussion points and follow-up items. Text requests do not attach audio files, business-card photos, private-note fields, or phone numbers, email addresses or WeChat IDs from contact records. Personal information you speak is included in the transcript. Cloud speech enhancement requires a separate consent. Only with an active subscription and that separate consent are the current recording, existing client names and aliases, and those clients’ contact names sent through the VisitLine server to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio Fun-ASR for transcription. Personal information spoken in the recording is included. Names from business cards not assigned to a client are not sent as cloud hints. You can still use on-device features if you decline, withdraw consent or cloud service is unavailable.
What our server stores
Our server does not store recordings, transcripts, client names or organized results, and does not write request bodies to access logs. To verify subscriptions, prevent abuse and limit cloud use, it stores de-identified subscription digests, request times and audio durations in seconds; it does not store original transaction IDs. To verify genuine apps and prevent replay, it stores irreversible hashes of App Attest key IDs, Apple public keys, counters, build information and last-use times. These are automatically deleted after 180 consecutive days of inactivity. Apple fraud receipts are not currently used or stored.
Third-party services
Third-party protection and withdrawing consent
We require processors to protect shared data to at least the standard described in this policy, and limit sharing to what is needed for the feature you consented to. Content is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. The VisitLine server does not retain audio, text or client names from requests. The data-protection provisions in Alibaba Cloud Model Studio’s service terms provide for processing business data according to service requirements, no unauthorized use or disclosure, and retention for the shortest period needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. Legal or backup restrictions may affect deletion timing. You can separately turn off AI text organization or cloud speech enhancement in Settings → AI data permissions at any time, stopping future uploads for that feature. Withdrawing one permission does not automatically withdraw the other. Turning off consent does not affect local recording or viewing records, and cannot retrieve data already sent. To enable a feature again, the app presents the notice and asks for explicit consent again. For material changes to recipients, data scope or purposes, we will notify you and request consent again.
Permissions the app may request
Full backup and restore
In Settings, make a full data backup to save records, clients and contacts, business-card photos, recordings and related data to an external folder you choose. Import that backup to preview and restore it.
Complete backups may contain private notes and original recordings; keep them secure. VisitLine does not automatically upload these backups to our server. If you select iCloud Drive or another cloud folder, the storage provider you choose handles those files under its own rules. Before deleting the app, save a backup outside the app’s container. Restoring purchases restores subscription access only, not local data.
Deleting your data
Children
The app is intended for working adults, not children. We do not knowingly seek to collect information from minors.
Policy changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and its effective date. Material changes to where data is sent will be clearly explained in the app.
