The short version
App Store privacy status: Data Not Collected. Focus features work offline, and your progress stays on your device by default. Optional private iCloud backup and an invited Focus Buddy share can move selected data into your own Apple iCloud; Pomeow has no account, analytics, advertising, or tracking.
What stays on your device by default
Focus sessions, streaks, fish, accessories, cat identity and growth are stored on your device by default. They can also be included in your personal Apple device backup if you use one. Pomeow does not operate an account service and we cannot view this local data.
Optional private iCloud backup
If you turn on “Keep this cat's growth in iCloud,” a versioned backup of completed focus history, relationship memories, cat identity, earned fish, wardrobe, mementos, adventures and settings is stored in your private CloudKit database. Active sessions, Focus Buddy invitations or membership, Location and weather cache are excluded. The timer still works when backup is off. You can turn backup off, delete it, or explicitly restore it on a fresh installation from Your cat's world.
Optional Focus Buddy
Focus Buddy requires iCloud and uses a private custom CloudKit zone shared through CKShare. Only invited participants can see the fields in that share: cat name and appearance, current companion state, a positive focused-today signal when present, and pats. Exact focus minutes, abandoned sessions, broken streaks, focus history, contact details, advertising identifiers and chat messages are not shared. Buddy data is not written to a public CloudKit database.
WeatherKit and Location
Season and time-of-day scenes work offline. If you choose real weather and allow Location, the location is used only for the live WeatherKit request. Pomeow does not save Location in the app, its private backup, or a Focus Buddy share, and it does not save a weather cache to CloudKit.
Purchases
Apple StoreKit processes the nine optional non-consumable cosmetic products and purchase restoration. Pomeow does not receive your payment-card details. Gift packs do not affect timer functions, statistics, growth speed, fish or mementos, and fish cannot be purchased.
What we don't do
- No usage analytics or crash reporting to us or anyone else.
- No advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No Pomeow account or sign-up.
- No contact information or advertising identifiers in private backup or Focus Buddy.
- No public CloudKit database for Focus Buddy data.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Pomeow schedules a local alert on your device when a session finishes. Live Activity presents the running session on the Lock Screen and, on supported devices, the Dynamic Island.
Retention, export and deletion
Local data remains until you remove it or uninstall the app; Apple device backups are controlled by your Apple account. A private growth backup remains until you delete it in Your cat's world. Focus Buddy participants can export shared fields, unlink, or delete buddy cloud data in Stats; local deletion credentials are kept until CloudKit confirms deletion so a failed request can be retried.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version changes these practices, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label will be updated to match.
